I know this might be an odd question but has anyone had the odd side effect of everything tasting of glue? Even water! I started on plaquenil just under a month ago. I have been taking aspirin for 6 years or so.
I have Hughes Syndrome and lupus.

Hi, no nothing like that, I had a dire reaction to it, but other relatives are doing great. I certainly don't remember any funny taste, however I know it takes a while to settle down in most people, so perhaps it will go away soon. MaryF
No I was and am fine with it - lots on here have said it gave them dodgy stomachs for a while and it takes a few months to start working. Perhaps glue- mouth is start of stomach upset phase?! Not sure what glue tastes like but hope it wears off soon for you
When I first started Plaquenil I got the most awful taste in my mouth, night and day. It wasn't glue - more like a decomposing rat, or what I imagine that might taste like. Anyhow, it was so bad that I gave up with the drug, spoke to my GP and rheumy and let everything settle for a while and then re-tried, but only at a couple of tablets a week initially. This time I didn't get the foul taste but it took me months to build up to my full, daily dose - which I now take without problem. So it might be worth persevering, depending on what your doctor/s say.
