Haematologist consult.

Had my 6 monthly check up with lovely Haematologist. He was very put out when he found I was in hospital between his visits and none of the doctors looking after me had contacted him. (He consults at the same place and I did let them know he was my haemtologist) However, he checked the blood work from November and compared with one done a couple of weeks ago and apart from slightly elevated platelets I'm doing great! He checks for the kidney function (normal) because of the Rivaroxaban but told me that he could tell I'm not a drinker because Liver tests were good. :) I'm back to my daily walks of around 5km and generally feeling as well as I ever have been.

For those who are worried about the newer NOACs, there is a reversal now for Dabigatran and one in the pipeline for Rivaroxaban and Apixaban. There is also evidence for fewer cerebral bleed with NOACs, but no mad rush to change off Warfarin if you are stable and been a long time user of it. For me, it works so well I just hope nothing rocks my boat!!

I am also happy for you that you are feeling so good. Yes walking is a must otherwise we can not get out of the sofa. The heart likes it also.

Best to you from Kerstin
