A really useful illustration of the very low relative risk of thrombosis with the AstraZeneca covid vaccine compared to thrombosis risks such as the combined oral contraceptive, thrombosis in the general population and the high risk from covid infection

It is useful, however, we are not the 'general population' are we? Don't we already have a greater risk of blood clots?

Even better news has broken - Beverley Hunt has a new tweet: the AZ vaccine is not associated with higher / increased risk of clotting or thrombocytopenia in those with previous clotting-“ sticky blood” / or thrombocytopenia.

I have spoken to Prof Hunt today and the recommendations are still to have the vaccines, which ever one you are offered, the risks are minimal and most of us are on anticoageration.

Yep!

Before I knew I had APS, ( and my mother went undiagnosed for APS specifically, she her doctors only knew that she had “some kind of problem with blood clotting” -

I was told- you can never be on the birth control pills due to your mother’s history of blood clotting.

Glad they asked!

I am booked in for my second shot in 12 weeks but today have a headache-more a dull ache than severe but I might take some Paracetamol . hubby has no side effects at all.
