I’m booked in for mine on 24th September, I hadn’t been aware that some were unsuitable. I do know that my INR was erratic after each of the four previous ones so not looking forward to that aspect. Wondering whether I ought to postpone now
Dozy Devon GPs didnt even know what Hughes APS is--in Vacc centre -Riviera -Torquay -then practice said Astra-turned down then daughter accepted-3 daughters have inherited it from their father& 5grandchildren-no info about new spikevac-I had no probs since Mons vacc-Astra=flu symptoms
I had a TIA within 48 hours of last Pfizer jab. Am declining offer of any other boosters. Maybe it was just coincidence, but since I’ve had covid this year, I don’t see it being terribly useful.
I had my booster a couple of weeks ago and have always had Pfizer been told not to have anything else, I’ve always been ok just a stiff arm for a couple of days
I have negative APS , on Rivaroxaban had the Moderna Autumn booster . Really sore arm a week. Lump. Then super tired 2 weeks and night sweats. Same as my reaction to Pfizer 1 and 2 . Felt fine after 3 weeks. My medicos all say have the covid boosters if you have had P E s. Less likely to get clots from vaccine as on blood thinners . Makes sense . To me it makes sense to try to NOT contact covid which is a blood clotting disease in certain people, if one has an autoimmune condition like APS . My dentist almost died of covid 19 (early before vacc roll out ) covid 19 is still part of the variants is it not? Still around . He said older people are beat to have boosters, that any risk or side effects weight out against a bad time with covid . I believe it . I feel better with a booster . Has not seemed to hurt my APS or my immune . After initial vacc effects I feel good. I am 72. I have not had covid and I do not want it . I wear a mask in shops crowds hospitals and G P Practice . I am having a flu shot also . I like not ever having flu or covid ( so far) mRna has not affected me in a bad way at all. For the old elderly , what do we have to lose ? I know a lady with M S , she felt better after Pfizer , her M S Synptoms lessened . How about that ? My immune does OK on mRna. Has not affected my APS at all. My Haematologist professor in a leading London teaching hospital , told me so far NO contraindications with APS and covid vaccine . (No age group in that info) . ALL oldies in my area have had the Moderna Autumn booster . Big fans in Silver citizens here. Boots covid vaccine clinics booked out 3 weeks before . I do not know one oldie or elderly ( beside HMQ Elizabeth Bless her soul ( I live 20 mins from the Palace) who has had it . I know plenty of youngs who have had it . I’m a vaccine fan .
Just an update ...i had adverse reactiin to Astra zenica and Pfizer. My gp advice..... i dont want you to have same thing happen again. Speak to yr consultants. Aps consultant said "up to you". Rheumatology consultant said, perhaps not wise to have another. He not sure if autumn booster protects against new variants either..I have asthma bronchiectasis sicca, underactive thyroid raynauds, geographic tongue, sicca/sjogrens? Lots more.... 71 years old. Advised to continue shielding. 3rd year living alone outside dog walks only. Dont qualify for antivirals and no evusheld..
