I thought they would have gone much more by now but he is also on blood thinners because he has portal vein thrombosis. Do the blood thinners keep platelets low? Or does it take a very long time, if ever, for platelets to go back up? Thanks

Has anyone heard recently of medics raising the danger of taking otcs regularly when on Anticoagulants, sometimes causing death from Pulmonary Embolisms or Deep Vein Thrombosis?

Stating my concern over those numbers, she tells me that white cell count doesn’t correlate with increased thrombosis risk. That was news to me. To address my concern she says to add 1 extra hydroxy a week. See you in 3 months. So my question is ‘ does this sound right to you guys?’ Thanks.

good morning, just to let use know I had my liver scan and got results early, so was told am now compensated from decompensated which is great and apperently have been for months because am not yellow and ascites have gone 🤷‍♀️ meld score down to 12, so all is good news, am done with google I honestly

She bruises easily and is on blood thinners due to deep vein thrombosis previously. She has had a recent flare up of PMR but a few days on steroids prednisone has sorted it (5mg)

The conclusion is that a thrombosis was the most likely cause of death. I thought some of you might be interested to listen to this . Also very heartened that all these people have worked pro bono on this . They have obviously put in a lot work on this.

And it may heighten the risk of thrombosis, though more studies are needed. I take apixaban because of my risk(and fear) of stroke due to AF/AFIB. We don't need the risk of another chemical with potential ability to clot blood.

My consultant basically said not much changes <60 unless you have a thrombosis event (which doesn't sound ideal, eg. wait for something to go wrong before doing anything?) . What is a thrombosis event? e.g. can you have minor? thrombosis events or is it just always really bad?

I had a pretty major cerebral venous thrombosis event in 2016 at age 46, after which BMB showed Jak2+. Despite how critical my condition was for a time (thankfully I recovered fully) my labs weren't definitive enough for an MPN diagnosis.
