Weird bruising on finger and toes update....

Well I finally got an app with the doc and explained to her about my chest pain and bruising on my finger and toes.

She was more concerned with my chest pain and told me not to think about the bruising and dismissed it as broken blood vessels which is obviously how you get a bruise.

I have been referred to the hospital and given an angina spray to see if that helps my next episode. I have also got to have blood tests and ecg.

I will speak to my rheumy consultant when I next see him in March to see whether I can get a better answer re bruising as I have been on anticoagulant and steroids for years. I will go armed with plenty of pictures.

Let us know how the up and coming appointment goes, it will be interesting to see what they have to say about your combined symptoms. MaryF

Taking blood thinners will cause far more bruising. Cortico-steroids also lead to more bruising as it can also thin the skin.

I am glad your chest pain is being investigated as there are multiple causes. For example, I take a nitroglycerine spray for oesophageal spasms which, apparently is the cause of 25% of all patients rushed to hospital for suspected heart conditions!

They are jolly painful! I am not suggesting this is what is happening to you.

I hope you get a diagnosis soon which will alleviate your understandable distress.

With good wishes,

Ros
