I have just read the blog of 'inr of 10+' and noticed one of the answers says bruising goes hand in hand with Hughes and you are asked about it when trying to diagnose. If you are not taking warfarin should you see more or less bruising?
Is bruising more prevalent of less wi... - Hughes Syndrome A...
Is bruising more prevalent of less with APS?
Also to add to above, some medications can make you more prone to bruising than others. Mary F x
I have to say despite being on warfarin for 9 years I rarely bruise at all. Even after venous blood draws. The only time is if I bang myself really really hard, usually on the leg.
Thanks for that info, Jade, it was interesting to read what you put about bruising, I used to bruise really easily but now even on aspirin I hardly bruise at all, I don't bleed much when I cut myself either.
If you don't bleed when you cut yourself, you may be clotting too much. Aspirin may not be enough for you. Make sure you tell your doctor this. He or she may want to either up your dosage of aspirin or put you on Warfarin. I was first put on 325 mg of Aspirin which is much more than what heart patients are put on. Most heart patients only take 8 mg of Aspirin a day. Good luck.
Another thing to keep in mind is that if you have DVT you wouldn't see bruising- I was loaded with clot's in 09 and no bruising-- but I also recently have had superficial clotting and just a mere discoloration. I did bruise however after my surgery in 2012. so all the above I strongly agree with. but I'm a wacky person anyways -just ask the bunch !!!!!!!!!!!-----I am on 2 thinners actually- I take 27 pills a day and also on a morphine patch on my spine I change every 7 days [ when I remember to ]?????Brain cramps don't you know !!!!!!wacky -shaky -skinny- mentally unstable --------------jet
