Hi there, this is not uncommon and I am going to suggest Manofmendip answers you in detail as he has some very good experience and knowledge regarding ears! MaryF
Thank you. Yes I mean ringing noise but at very low sound. It is like hearing a clock. But it does not last more than minutes
I am on warfarin. Target range is 2-3
Thank you very much. The problem is I moved to another country where no speacilist is available. I just visit my country in summer now where I can meet with my doctor
This would appear to be tinnitus as stated. I had it because of damage to the hairs in my ears. The audiologist said it was because my ears were working too hard. Hearing aids got rid of it for me. it comes back if I don't use my aids for a couple of days. Good luck.
Hi
Mary has asked me to answer you on this question.
Yes, it is common in APS, due to either micro-clots or just the fact that the blood vessels in the inner ear are tiny, <0.1mm in diameter, smaller than some platelets. In APS our blood can be sludgy and have trouble passing through these small blood vessels.
You INR range may need reviewing. Many on here need to be between 3 & 4 and I used to need to be between 4 & 4.5.

Hello Dave, maybe a couple interesting thoughts... Being on Fragmin I understand it works differently and (?) may not necessarily thin blood so would Fragmin have zero effect on blood trying to pass through ears?
Second thought, what about platelet clumping people, would that make it more difficult to pass through ears as well (even though on Fragmin shots)? Always wondered about this... my ears ring like crazy. May be interesting questions for the micro clot expert.
Take care,
Comrade
I suggest you book an appointment with your GP .If medication doesn't help they will send you to hospital for hearing test. This happened to me.Diagnosed with tinnitus but high frequency drop and acoustic neuroma. Yours could be just tinnitus but best to get checked.
Hi all, only because this is fairly relevant to me with recent med history thought I would let you know what I have been told this week.
First Tinnitus can be associated for all the points raised above but also some medicines can increase its effects. I have noticed as expected and warned Tinnitus post Chemotherapy, I have a flock of Tits in one ear and an annoying electronic Bing in the other which comes and goes but like now I have that high pitched whistle away behind my ears drowning all other noises. I hoped that this would subside by now about 7-8 months after but it is here to stay and mentioned to my Oncologist (Oh by the way if you are interested I am ALL CLEAR!!! Wahey!!) and he straight away noted Hydroxychloroquine as this can sometimes have tinnitus as a side effcet. So to be honest how good I feel right now which I am sure Hydroxy is contributing too massively I will take the Tinnitus .... Is it down to anything? probably down to ALL of above and some but its noticeable enough I will be getting my GP to set me on the right path to check for certain.
That is all...
