Hi all, I have a problem with my right ear, constant ringing noise. A couple of months ago I noticed a very loud gushing noise in the right.ear, since then I can't hear as well in that ear and I seem to be left with this constant noise. Should I see the doc. About this? Has anyone else experienced anything like it? Thanks elfie
Ear problem: Hi all, I have a problem... - Hughes Syndrome A...
Ear problem
I would see your GP asap, it may be an ENT problem rather than a problem just with the usual condition, although that will need checking, Dave is the best for ears on here, micro clots can cause problems in tiny ear parts... but also in an ordinary person a blocked ear or an infection could perhaps cause similar, best to check it all out. Yes thanks mary I'll do that just haven't had time, lots to do mother passed away 2 weeks ago. Elfie
Hi Elfie,
I have had a lot of ear problems caused by microembolies. When I was well anticoagulated with warfarin and stable the neurological problems from Eye/ear/balance disappeared.
I am so sorry to hear about the death of your mother who you have visited many times and as I understand lived far away from you.
Take care of your self!
Best wishes from Kerstin in Stockholm
Hi Elfie
I had a similar problem last April. I had a high pitched whistle in my left ear which lasted a few seconds but when it stopped I was deaf in that ear. I went to the hospital and my GP but both thought nothing wrong. I now have permanent hearing loss in that ear and was referred to ENT (ear nose & throat) at the hospital but nothing they can do. I had hearing tests and they said low tones ok but then my hearing drops away as it gets to high tones. Tried a hearing aid but this made it worse so nothing they can do. You should see a doctor as I was told that if they had referred me to ENT immediately they may have been able to save my hearing. Hope this helps.
Thank you all for your advice I will get an appointment ASAP. Elfie
Hi Elfie, I told you that all the nerological symptoms disappeared but I have bad hearing on my right ear and the tinnitus will never go away. Those were things happening before I was correctly anticoagulated. What happened before warfarin remains I am afraid.
It is very wise that you talk to your APS-doctor so you can avoid further trouble with this disease from other parts of your body.

Hearing issues can have so many causes -- so it is best to go to an ENT for advice in sorting out the cause and possible treatments.
Thanks Kerstin and Gina I will get it checked out.
Sorry for the loss of your mother.
I recommend you go to an EMT also. They discovered the ringing I had was hearing loss. They couldn't pinpoint what caused mine or fix it but I waited months before I went to a doctor.
Thanks raking223 ihave made appt. With doctor elfie
