Have you been to see your practice nurse or Gp so they can examine your inner ear ?
Have a look at the HSF website. Click on the logo at the top right of this page and have a look at the info there. There are also very good books available there. I prefer "Sticky Blood Explained" by Kay Thackray. That is a very good book about all the different symptoms of APS. She has this illness herself.
I have seen that you were diagnosed 3 months ago so you are rather "new" on this illness. I Think you should talk to your APS-doctor (we have found that it is very important to have a talk with a Specialist of APS as so very few doctors understand this illness.) It is very common with balance and ear-problems.
I say this because if you come to an ordinary doctor he may not understand what is wrong with you as he does not know of APS and its relation with the very tiny bloodvessels that need anticoagulation.
Hope you feel better soon

Thank you
Hi Tracey
Please do get checked out by your GP/Practice Nurse.
If you are suffering from dizziness then it may be worth you seeing Peter Savundra at The Portland Hospital in London but Peter, I think, only sees people privately. He was very good when I saw him, he is a Consultant Audiovestibular Physician and he is a friend of Prof Hughes and he knows all about APS/Hughes Syndrome and its effect on the ears.
Best wishes.
Dave
Hi first stop is the GP surgery, as many reasons can cause this from a virus to an infection, but of course due to Hughes Syndrome/APS

Can you still hear through the offending ear?
When i lost my hearing in one ear i had what may have been a similar feeling. Like when you are on an aeroplane and pressure builds but swallowing does not relieve the pressure.
I really wanted to go up in a plane at the time to see if that would undo the feeling of pressure. I didnt get the oportunity but eventually the pressure feeling passed but my hearing did not return.
I can hear ok as far as I know, it just feels like an air pocket sometimes!
Haven't been GP yet because sometimes it's ok and then it's back again
As you want a baby and you have been diagnosed with APS I should advise you to find an APS-doctor.
It is important that you have the right drug to thin your blood and that you do not get more symptoms like most of us do if we have not started with the right anticoagulation. So very few doctors know this illness.

I have tinnitus which I do ascribe to autoimmune issues: so many of us here describe the same tinnitus issues which become worse when the blood is too thick.
But I also have inherited from my Grandfather a tendency to over produce ear wax, which produces that too full feeling and louder tinnitis. It all gets much worse in the winter, which I attribute to low humidity in my heated house.
Do see a doctor. If you have impacted wax issues a doctor will be able to flush your ears safely and effectively. If you get in there on your own chances are you will just push more wax up against the ear drum. resulting in less wax but more pressure. Once cleaned out, you can ask what drops you might use at home to keep them clean. I use an over the counter drops of olive oil mixed with HO: a oouple of drops in each ear, tilt the head and wiggle my head around, drain. and -- I'm good for another week.
Hope you get this sorted out. That "too full" feeling ranges from hyper-annoying to downright painful.
