Taking syringes on a flight

I used to put mine thru security separately, but it was too much of a hassle. Now I just leave it in my carry on bag and have never had an issue, including traveling all over the world--US, Europe, Asia, South America.
I took half mine in hand luggage and half in hold luggage in case hold luggage went missing etc. I just had them in a clear plastic bag with copy of prescription with a note on it from doctor saying I needed it for travel and the doctor signed it. That was enough and had no problems on a flight from London to Florida.
I took them in my hand luggage, I had a letter from my GP which cost £10!! But they didn't ask to see it. I also took my repeat prescription with me just incase.
Yes no problem, I have always done this, like people who have insulin.
It is very important to take in hand luggage as you don't want to lose it,
I tell the customs but they never seem bothered. Just in case is have a letter from my Doctor.
I also take my coagucheck machine in my hand luggage.
Enjoy your holiday
I carried mine in my hand luggage and like the others had a letter from my Doctor explaining about the drugs I had , out of the two times I have travel I had to produce to letter once which sercurity who photo copied it, I also told the airline we travelled with.
Hope this is helpful
Enjoy your Hols
In hand luggage- no question as there isn't a single airline that can guarantee its luggage handlers will safely deliver your luggage- and potentially life saving kit- at the other end. I also have a (costly) GPs letter explaining that I need them, and carry Class A drugs. Since I have had them not one security official has asked to see any of it!
In February this year, I boarded a flight on United Airlines with 18 prefilled syringes of Lovenox--I brought a note from my doctor stating that I had these in my carry-on. I called the airline, and they told me when I go through security to take it out of my luggage and show the TSA agent the bag and note. They weren't even interested in it--instead, they pulled out my luggage off the screener and had me open it for a suspicious looking item on the xray. Believe it or not, it was a banana. The agent and I had a good laugh.
The subsequent flight was on Delta, and they too, weren't even interested. But I would suggest getting a note from your doctor and have it with you.
Thank you for all your help-you are all really helpful and kind. Sorry I didn't say thank you before but I had a massive bleed which had to be investigated- 9 appointments in just 6 days. Alls well that ends well -am back on the mend-nothing to.do with the anticoagulation.
