Cottage pie with black beluga lentils

Hi everyone,

Here's what I made for dinner tonight, it's a cottage pie made with onion vegetables and black beluga lentils. I mixed a desert spoon of gram flour in a little water added low salt bouillon and some more water before adding that to the vegetables in a casserole dish with mashed potatoes with butter and milk spread on top with grated potato on top as that goes lovely and crispy.

It was October comfort food and it ticked the right boxes for me. And this is what its all about folks finding what works for us and enjoying it and on that happy note enjoy the rest of your day now.

Looks good Jerry. Turkey curry with sweet potatoes and spinach. Homemade mango chutney with poppadoms. Curry batch cooked so another 3 meals ready for freezer. Stay safe Alice

Thanks Alice, I read on the poll that you had this in your slow cooker so I bet it made your home smell wonderful and that you really enjoyed it especially with home made chutney it just gets better.

Enjoy your evening now. 😊

That looks so good 🥔 Potatoes in any form are just wonderful. One time a bunch of us decided to choose which fruit or vegetable we’d want to discover if we were stranded on a desert island 🏝 I chose potato because it’s so versatile and you can cook them in so many different ways. Of course that presumed there were cooking facilities on this desert island and preferably some herbs, spices and olive oil too 🙄

Hi HungryHufflepuff I agree that potatoes are a favourite veg and as long as you could cook them would be a great find if you were stranded on a desert island.

I think roasting potatoes is my very favourite way of serving them. 😊

Exactly! Crispy is a good thing with potatoes in certain meals. It makes things have a crunchy texture to them. :-)
