I made some fruit slices earlier and as I try to add nutrition when I bake and cook I ground some quinoa which I added to self raising gluten free flour. So with the fruit and flaked almonds its nice and wholesome.
Here's the recipe, 50g ground quinoa 175g self raising GF flour 175g mixed dried fruit with peel 160g organic butter 3 large free range eggs 145g brown sugar all whizzed up in my food processor spread in a baking tray coated in flaked almonds and baked for approx 30mins @175C until cooked through. I baked 2 trays of these and froze one as they freeze well.
So all very pleasant especially with a nice cup of tea in the afternoon sunshine. π
That's right! Adding quinoa to a baked good is a good idea and adds more healthy ingredients to the item. I'll see what we have here and add the quinoa to the next baked good we do.
You're welcome!
Lovely recipe once again Jerry and beautiful result. I can almost taste those slices already! I'm certainly going to give them a go as I'm a great fan of adding quinoa in any way I can, to recipes!

Awe thanks Sue, thatβs very kind of you, ground quinoa will work really well with wheat flour so good luck with your baking. ππ
