Today's Lunch: 8-21-2021

For lunch today, I had 4 turkey slices, mustard, pickled beets and a red apple with a glass of water. It's been a while since I had this for a Saturday lunch, so thought it was a good idea to have it this weekend. The entire meal had 30 total carbs. and it had lots of protein. Everything was good and has been keeping me from being hungry for an afternoon snack.

Thank you, Sue! It kept me from feeling hungry until 4:15 pm today. I didn’t use bread, so it was really low carb high protein.😀👍

Thank you, Imaaan . Yes, I learned that if I eat more meals/snacks with more protein and less carbs., then I'm less hungry right away and also the blood sugars stay on an even level during the day.

The turkey slices are not too big in size, so you can move each one on top of each other when you're done putting the mustard between them on the plate. When I do this, it's easier to cut. :-)

If I have protien or a healthy fat in my meal, I tend to feel satiated for longer periods. I'm not really a snacker though.

I'm glad that you have found a way to keep your sugar levels more balanced.

If you want some variety, you can try a lettuce wrap and add tomatoes next time ;)

Thank you for the suggestion about the lettuce wrap and tomato. I'll have to see if we have any tomatoes before the next time we all have the turkey slices for another meal, again. :-)
