Hi everyone, I am excited to be here... I just recently joined! I'm curious, do any of you use calorie counting apps? I downloaded one about a month ago and it has been really valuable. Not only because it helps me track what I am eating each day, but it is is also quite revealing just how many calories are in various foods. I'm amazed how quickly I am losing weight by remaining really compliant with my daily intake. I'm just not sure how long I will be able to keep this up. It is a lot of work! Thoughts?

I sometimes use Chronometer, as I find it a bit easier to use than the others. It breaks down the micronutrients as well as the macronutrients. It also lets you enter a full recipe and take portions of the recipe, which saves time. As an example, we often have a mix of peppers, mushrooms and onions as a side, so I have that as a recipe I can call upon quickly (rather than looking up 1/4 of an onion, 1/2 of a pepper and 2 mushrooms each time I eat it).
They can be useful I've been filling in for the last few weeks to check my protein and carb intake.
