Hello I am new here 😊
Have you tested to see whether your acid reflux is caused by high stomach acid or low stomach acid?

If it's low stomach acid, then taking a tbsp of apple cider vinegar before a meal will help
Hi Hb2003 welcome to the community and do you know the cause of your acid reflux as its worth finding the cause and treating that as a few things can cause it including a hiatus hernia.
So good luck and you're in great company for all things healthy eating on here so I hope you find the answers you want and enjoy being a member,
Jerry. 😊
Thanks a lot jerry i really dont know what’s the cause of it. Thanks for the kindness .
Hi Hb2003

Hi Hb2003 I agree with both Cooper27 and Hidden .
I had suffered stomach pains, some reflux and other symptoms to varying degrees occasionally for years. They were a bit like cluster migraines - several episodes close together and then nothing for a while. I was tested several times for pylori H (always negative) and treated with a PPI for high stomach acid. However, it was using Apple Cider Vinegar, after taking the baking soda test (acid at that point very low according to the test), that has the best, and longest lasting, results for me. I do drink it through a straw to help protect my teeth and use the organic kind with the Mother in it. Low stomach acid is, or was, not generally recognised as much as high.
Long winded way (as usual) of saying get tested for anything underlying and if nothing found maybe try the natural route before taking PPIs.
Is it constantly or just at night when you lie down? I have managed to cure my acid reflux problem altogether now, mainly by cutting out bread, cake, biscuits, pasta, rice and potatoes. I also don’t eat anything after dinner, which we have at 6pm. I’ve only been doing this for a month now, but the results have been quite dramatic for me. No more getting up in the night hunting for the Gaviscon. I think most people find weight loss also helps, if you are overweight.
Hi Lilly40. I had chronic acid reflux a couple of years ago so much so that it eventually burnt my voice box. The doctor prescribed the usual remedies which didn't work very well. Eventually I did a food elimination test and found my sensitivities. If you haven't tried doing that I highly recommend it. Not eating those foods has changed things dramatically for me. I still have days when I fancy something that I shouldn't eat but, obviously, suffer the consequences....... so, as long as you have been checked out for underlying conditions, think about embarking on this course of action. Good luck.
