Hi. I'm not particularly unfit but need to lose 3 stones. I'm a grab too and like you lose motivation quite easily. I'm setting a public goal so not as easy to back out! I'm swimming the length of the channel in three months for charity - eeek! Could something like us having a weekly weigh in competition work for us both? I'm aiming to move junk food out of my life - but not at all sure it'll work. I'm writing down everything I eat and that has been a real eye opener! Biscuits, crisps, sweets - all there!!!! Ive finished chicken nuggets, ice cream and chips in two days to help the boys out!!!!

I feel your pain - I'm a 59 year old unfit, overweight grandmother. It took joining a slimming club to make me realise just how badly wrong I was getting my diet. I'm now aiming for a healthy lifestyle full of veggies, some fruit, and a bit of chicken and fish, with red meat relegated to a 'treat'.

That's the only way I can lose weight, by stopping thinking of it as a miserable thing I am forced to do and then will finish doing at some point. I had to get to the stage where I understood I needed to lose weight to stay healthy. Once you've got there, it becomes much easier. I still have the occasional treat or I'd go mad though, but I try to make it something that's sensible on the calories :)

Excellent advice there Hidden 😊 Getting your head into the right frame of mind is essential 😊 Focus on enjoying the process, all the lovely food you can eat and the pleasure of exercise and increasing fitness 😊 Good luck Ozzie01 and Scottishgranny

Hi

I know exactly where you are coming from .I have lost weight in the past but things happen and I go back to square one .My health hasn't been great for a couple of years .I have asthma which is not so good at moment .Steroids make me eat . When asthma bad I can't exercise so weight goes on .Its a silly roundabout I seem to be stuck on at the moment .

Back on here for help and motivation . This time I'm determined to make it .Just back from visiting family in Australia and planning next trip out so want to be fit and able to fit all summer clothes hanging in wardrobe

Wishing you luck 🌺🌻🐝😃

Hi, like you I'm an unfit grandma. I'm sharing what I learn about healthy eating with my grandkids. I look after them at weekends and we eat together a lot. We don't eat out often as hubby hates virtually everything we don't prepare and cook ourselves. 7 year old granddaughter was quite scathing at a rare outing to mcdonalds when I suggested one cola wouldn't hurt.

I try to think of how I would advise the grandkids if they were in my position. It's good to share lol
