Tofu with Hoisin !

Do you like Tofu ? I’m frying some in fry light tomorrow for a healthy meal with my daughter .

I’m going to mix some hoisin sauce with soy and a little chilli sauce .

I’ll add plenty of veg too .. I’ll post the photo tomorrow night ok guys .

Not sure if you’ve used tofu before but here I go with the advice😀. I would make your sauces into a marinade and put the tofu in it for a while (as long as you want) to give it some flavour (tofu itself has no flavour. Get your oil hot and then fry the tofu if you want it crispy. However you do it enjoy!

Hello Richard260,

Have never tried Tofu before and there is a ‘silken’ kind. Could you please advise me what to do with it and is it a replacement for something else?

I will be interested to see this, as I have not managed successfully to make tofu look/taste good. I did here that freezing tofu actually improves the texture and taste

Always buy Firm or extra firm , when you take it out of the packaging put a tea towel over the block and drain all the water out first , then coat in cornflour and marinade . 2 minutes each side in pan .

Maybe cornflour is the magic ingredient, thats a really good idea 💡
