Hi I'm Carol and I'm new on here. I have joined the healthy eating community as I am trying really hard to lose weight. I have tried conventional and more faddy ways to lose weight, so this time I am going to try plain and simple healthy eating. It would be great to get some support, some ideas for healthy meal choices and some ideas on food swaps to more healthy alternatives. I look forward to reading your posts and ideas.

Hello Carol, welcome to our friendly community, you are right to abandon faddy diets as adopting a real food diet is the answer as healthy food is packed with nutrients which sustain our bodies as many people who are over weight are over fed and under nourished so by eating well your body will be well placed to lose weight.
I'd start gently by swapping unhealthy options for healthy ones like buying a bag of grapes instead of sweets and avoiding processed foods so you know exactly what you are eating.
So I would see losing weight as a lifestyle change that is sustainable so you will gradually lose weight and feel fitter as good wholesome food with adequate exercise is the answer.
