Hello voley1 whole foods and non processed foods would be a good start and one thing to remember is laughter is great for a healthy mind and is free...Exercise is also great for a relaxed and healthy mindset.

Here's a link about foods that are great for the body and mind:

I wish you well with this and you're in great company for all things healthy eating and well being on here.

On a simple level THE key nutrient is omega-3. But that does not mean taking omega-3 supplements, far from it. The story to good brain health is far more complex than a panacea. So treat your brain properly rather than short-changing it with a supposed quick fix.

O3's come from a variety of plants. Get dark leafy greens into your daily diet is a starting point no-one should miss. Later a power punch of daily linseed can be brought into the diet, but remember these seeds need grinding into a powder otherwise they pass through the body direct to the bowel with little or no benefit!

It's not just about O3, rather it is about the O3-Omega 6 ratio. Get that right and your brain and body can fly. Paleo man had a ratio of 1-1, today's average omnivore is way out of kilter at 20-1. Guzzling down olive oil is not going to help with that ratio because it has a ratio of 14-1. Yes, olive oil is better than other fats and oils, but that's because they are bad, not because olive oil is good.

And as Jerry says, get them wholefoods in. This is a whole body-mind experience you are looking at. So that also means good cardio exercise and challenge that brain intellectually. So research, research, research.

Do all this and you might downgrade any dimentia related genes and thus diminish a risk of dimentia by 60%. Start doing this now and making it your life's goal to treat your brain with the respect it deserves and that will stand you in good stead to keep an active & healthy brain into "old" age.
