I want to make my own almond butter. Can anyone advise on suitable kit?

I understand the butter takes about 20 minutes to “churn”.

Hi willsie01

When I was looking for a machine to make nut butter Vitamix was the one. I couldn't afford it so bought a Cuisinart FP-8WBC at approx. £125, it's been amazing and I make all my own nut butters and have been for well over a year.😀

You are welcome. I make nut butter about once a fortnight and it's gorgeous, I'm addicted😂.

I've even made a nut butter with a bag of mixed nuts and it was yummy. The only nut butter I wouldn't make again is Pecan as they are do oily. Cashew, Peanut and Almond nut butters are gorgeous.😋

Enjoy😀

I’ll try them both!

You wont be disappointed.

Just a tip, I've found the best way of telling when they are ready is that when the nut butter is whizzing around in my food processor there is a blob which starts to change shape and it then represents a cog, once that has disappeared it's ready.

I've looked at the Vitamin and Cuisinart U.K. websites. I see what you mean about the prices of Vitamix!

I can't find the FP-8WBC on the Cuisinart site but there is a MINI PREP PRO: ECH4PU that is described as being capable of making almond butter. At £50 might be one to go for?

Sorry for delay, I've been out on a speed walk.

Yes the Vitamix is very expensive. For guidance my Cuisinart cost me £125 last year, it's just over a year old.

Meant to give you another tip and that's to roast the nuts on 180 degrees fan oven before using them to make the nut butter, they taste so much better roasted first. An example for length of time to roast is if you have about 500g of nuts it should take about 16 tp 20 minutes, take them out halfway and move them around a bit for an even roast.

You'll love homemade nut butter and you know it'll be pure nuts and nothing else added.😀

Hi willsie01 I made some cashew butter in a coffee grinder and it came out really well. I'm sure that Alicia is right that a Vitamix is great for nut butters. I was pleasantly surprised how easy to was so here's a couple of [posts on Cashew butter:

Hi I bought a vitamin 750 pro. It is expensive I have to admit but it does a lot. You can make nut butter in a lot less than 20 mins. You can also make ice cream and soup in it. You can pretty much blend anything without the motor burning out, which is what you need to be careful of. If you make nut butter you can just add the nuts and nothing else as the oil is released from the nuts. Good luck.
