Pip pop hooray its national cherry day 🍒

Hi everyone,

Today is National cherry day to promote cherries and encouraging people to eat and grow them as cherry orchards have been in decline.

Only 10 cherries are one of our 5 a day. There are many health benefits of cherries from reducing inflammation in arthritis helping us sleep, they help regulate blood sugar levels so are great for diabetes and pre diabetes.

I love cherries Jerry. I get them from the farmers market around this time. I always look forward to it. That cake looks divine. Reminds me of all the cakes we had at New Year in Scotland.

Thank you Brightfeather, I love cherries and fresh cherries rather than glazed cherries. Funnily enough I made the cake in the winter as there's something about a rich fruit cake with cherries around Christmas time. 😊
