Anyone have any good health related book recommendations?

Could be physical health, mental health, self help, how to be healthy in general, etc.

Jethro Kloss is seen by some as the pioneer of the whole food movement, his books are very interesting and not just recipe books. He was a Seventh day adventist so had some extreme views like baking powder is the work of the devil because its a laxative and he blind baked corn to make a natural dextrose sweetener. So a very interesting character with with some great ideas, please see:

Thank you. I'm sure I will 😁

there's to much controversy over what some say is a healthy diet for me to recommend a book on it..and anyways I've never read a book in my life on what food is best for you.

I can though recommend a book on buddhas teachings how you can have some piece of mind when things get on top of you in day to day life..perhaps you can look on line for something.

Hi

I would recommend “The 4 Pillar Plan” by Dr Rangan Chatterjee. He looks at how food, sleep and stress can affect your health. If you’re in the U.K. you might have seen him on TV.

Can recommend this too. I have also been influenced by Michael Mosely, Gary Taubes and Jason Fung

I really like Eat Nourish Glow, but Amelia Freer. She's a registered nutritionist, and her book is well split between food and nutritional advice.

I also really like the Clever Guts recipe book, because looking after our guts is also really important for good health.

Any book that inspires you to listen to your body and challenge what you're eating must be a good thing. Anything on gut health since that drives not only our physical but also mental health.

I'm trying to avoid listing exact books since what books are good for you depends so much on where you are coming from. For example if I went back say 5 years ago I would have ignored anything to do with the whole food plant based movement as largely quackery. But having been forced to listen to my body, having thence changed my gut for the better I now consider I was blindfolded by society for the last 60+ years.

Challenge your thinking from the ground up and you won't be disappointed.

Any book ( nutritionstudies.org/plant-... ) or video ( google.com/search?as_q=+%22... ) with T. Colin Campbell, ss017.

Do you have ‘good health related’ book(s)/ video(s) that you’d recommend, ss017? 🤔 🙏 🍀 🌺 🌞

Descriptive blurb:

"Professor Campbell is a well-established researcher and author. His popular book (co-authored with his son, a physician) titled The China Study (2005), has been translated into more than 50 foreign languages and has sold well over 2 million copies. His second book, Whole (2013), was a New York Times best seller.

Campbell has conducted experimental research on the effect of food and nutrition on the development of cancer and related diseases. His research program was relatively large, and his findings were published in more than 300 peer reviewed professional papers. He also participated as a member of several expert panels on health of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Institutes of Health and related public agencies.
