I was stunned to realise that my favourite seeded bread contains 300 calories for 2 slices. I have just thrown almost a full loaf away. What bread would be best with less calories? I would be happy to get your suggestions.

What bread should I be eating?
Hi Nell66 Have you seen the Pinned post about 'freshly baked bread'? Here is a link if you want to have a look:

Hi
Bread is never going to be a very low calorie food, so it’s probably not a good idea to eat too much of it.
The Diabetes site has a breakdown on calories in bread. You may want to check out the fibre content too.
You should be eating home-made organic stoneground wholewheat bread. A slice or three each week more than does me.
You can make an argument for using spelt flour since all wheat flours are fortified and I remain to be convinced that fortification is good for long term health.
Why not keep your lovely bread and have 1 slice instead of 2, that's what I do, most lovely seeded breads are 125cals plus or maybe seeded rolls they are around 180cals each. Good luck.

Hi all
Are you aware that Lidl no longer make the high protein triangular rolls there is a petition to get them back
As this community has so many members we could add some clout to the petition

Why eat bread at all?
I occasionally bake my own wholewheat loaf - mainly for amusement value - and I eat tortillas now and then. But basically I haven't eaten bread in any form for about 10 years. Yes bread is convenient, but if you're trying to lose weight it's bad news.
