I eat a lot of bread and I’m wanting to start to cut it down. Im not a fan of brown bread. So any healthy lunch ideas would be great. (No meat) thank you 🙂

Morning EmzH

Welcome to the Healthy eating forum. I hope you'll enjoy participating here. I've put a link to the BBC Good Food 'Healthy lunches' page - as there are quite a few ideas there for healthy lunches. It could be a good starting place to find a few options that you like.

Have a look around our Topics too - there is a 'lunch' topic and 'meal ideas' topic. I hope you find things that you enjoy.

Ive been eating fine milled oatcake biscuits as an alternative to bread. Easy to travel with in an airtight container. I've now moved on to GF bread but still eat the oatcakes on occasions for a change.

are you able to heat things up at lunchtime? I often take a lentil dahl or mixed bean chilli (or similar one pot cook ahead type dishes) to work and microwave it. Mixed bean salad or quinoa salads, maybe with hummus, feta and olives are cold favourites. I have recently been googling buddha bowls which look like a great lunch option.

I sometimes eat rice cakes but they never really fill me up.

I am a stay at home mum so can cool things but tend to stick with things that don’t take long to make
