Hi! I need some advice on fiber and the best ways to include more of it in my diet. What are the best foods to each that will provide me with the most effective fiber intake??
Thanks in advance!!

Hi distracted1 ,
Welcome to the Healthy Eating forum.
Here's a link from NHS Choices (which this forum is linked to) on increasing fibre, that you may find helpful:

Eat lots of fruit, vegetables, nuts & seeds.
All plant foods contain fibre, including legumes, nuts, seeds, fruit - especially when whole. On the other hand animal foods have no fibre at all.
I would advise against "processed" fibre such as read-made breakfast cereals. Not only are these loaded with sugar and salt, if not fat, but also the fibre is not in its original form. Fibre in fresh fruit slows the absorption of fruit sugars making fruit much more digestible without any sugar spikes.
Even "wholewheat" breakfasts such as shredded wheat and weetabix are very far from as good as the whole wheat. They are better than alternatives with sugar and salt etc but not as good as oats.
I eat a huge bowl of jumbo oats made into porridge daily and cannot recommend it highly enough. It is a real nutritional powerhouse that is ideal for human consumption and is so versatile.
