It sounds like itโ€™d be gross and I was very weary at first. BUT ITS UHHHHMAZING!! Tastes just like brownie batter really. Typically, I dip strawberries or cherries in it.

I know youโ€™re curious about nutrition facts, right?! Well... in 2Tbsp. Itโ€™s got 80 calories, 4.5g total fat, 10g carbs, 3g fiber, and 6g total sugars! Finally something you donโ€™t have to feel guilty eating and can enjoy!

This sounds interesting. Is I a US product? Does it have any added sugar, or is it all naturally occurring?

It is a US product. The facts just state total sugars 6g (including added sugars). Iโ€™d have to look at the ingredients later.

I could be wrong but I think 2tbsp is about 25 grams. That makes it very high in carbs fat sugar and calories.

I normally work out things per 100 grams..so its times four to what you put on.

Itโ€™s chic peas so yea, veggie wise it has some carbs 10g per serving as mentioned in my post.

Depending on flavor and brand of hummus, the carbs. can vary (regular/classic has 4 grams of total carbs.).

in reply to NoMonkeyBusiness

Yes chickpeas, sugar, sunflower oil, salt cocoa powder, aquafada, vanilla extract ..I think tahini and maple syrup.

I was only trying to point out that even though two table spoons is what they consider to be a serving, the percentage of that serving is very high in fat, sugars, carbs and calories.

I think it's just clever marketing..some cocoa powder and nice packaging.

You had me at "brownie batter", NoMonkeyBusiness (๐Ÿšซ ๐Ÿต Business)! ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜‚

I bet it is UHHHHMAZING!! ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜‹

Love ๐Ÿฅฐ idea ๐Ÿ’ก of dipping strawberries ๐Ÿ“ & cherries ๐Ÿ’ too!! ๐Ÿค—

Searched for INGREDIENTS of Dark Chocolate Dessert Hummus from โ€˜Boarโ€™s Headโ€™ ( google.com/search?as_q=Dark... ):

. . . โ€ข Boarโ€™s Head ( boarshead.com/products/humm... ) lists: โ€โ€ฆchickpeas infused with rich cocoa, organic sugar and vanilla โ€ฆโ€œ

. . . โ€ข Fooducate( fooducate.com/product/Boar%... ) lists: "Steamed chickpeas Organic sugar Water Sunflower oil Cocoa powder Vanilla extract Sea salt Nisin"

.

Curious about โ€˜Nisinโ€™, so looked up ( google.com/search?as_q=Nisi... ). Wikipedia ( en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nisin ) defines it as: "Nisin is a polycyclic antibacterial peptide produced by the bacterium Lactococcus lactis that is used as a food preservative. โ€ฆ In the food industry, nisin is obtained from the culturing of L. lactis on natural substrates, such as milk or dextrose, and it is not chemically synthesized. It was originally isolated in the late 1930s, and produced since the 1950s as Nisaplin from naturally occurring sources by Aplin and Barrett in laboratories in Beaminster in Dorset, and approved as an additive for food use in the USA in the late 1960s, although the Beaminster factory now is owned by DuPont. โ€ฆ Nisin is used in processed cheese, meats, beverages, etc. during production to extend shelf life by suppressing Gram-positive spoilage and pathogenic bacteria. โ€ฆ " ๐Ÿค” ๐Ÿ’ญ

Hmm ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ญ . . . Think some of us can ingest foods that includes each ingredient: chickpeas, sugar, sunflower oil ๐ŸŒป๐Ÿ’ง, cocoa, vanilla, salt ๐Ÿง‚ & Nisin (& some of us canโ€™t.) [Chocolate๐Ÿซ , after all, is the base of the food pyramid ๐Ÿ”บ . . . ๐Ÿ˜‹ โ˜บ๏ธ (at least in my book ๐Ÿ“– โ€” not necessarily day-to-day practical living โ˜บ๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ™ƒ ). And, hummus IS the very next layer of the food pyramid ๐Ÿ”บ! . . . ๐Ÿ˜‹ The 2 combined ๐Ÿ”€ has to be a winning combination!! ๐Ÿ† ๐Ÿค— ]

Thank you for sharing this new โ€˜healthy dessertโ€™ idea, ๐Ÿšซ ๐Ÿต Business! โ˜บ๏ธ ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ€ ๐ŸŒบ ๐ŸŒž

[If making homemade ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ hummus , maybe we can experiment ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ”ฌ with adding cocoa powder (and/or carob powder), vanilla, & maybe some type of sweetener (like a date sugar/ paste, honey, maple syrupโ€ฆ & leaving out ingredients we canโ€™t safely ingest? ๐Ÿค” ๐Ÿ’ญ . . . . . . ๐Ÿ˜‹ ๐Ÿ˜‹ ๐Ÿ˜‹ ]
