It has been hot in Southern California and I can’t believe I have to turn on my central air already. 😅 Açaí fruit bowl is one of my favorite summer time treats. 😋 Because it is still high on sugar so what I do is split in half of the açaí berry portion and mix with my oatmeal and chia seeds. Also, I add additonal berries, bananas and granola for extra vitamins and fibers. Basically, you can add anything to make it fun , healthy and tasty. 😁👍 It’s best served cold.

*A little bit background on açaí and nutritional facts:

The açaí berry is an inch-long, reddish-purple fruit. It comes from the açaí palm tree, which is native to Central and South America. Some studies show that açaí fruit pulp is even richer in antioxidants than cranberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, or blueberries. As we know, açaí berries are high in antioxidants that help neutralize free radicals to prevent damage to your cells. Plus it contains probiotic, bacillus coagulation which is great source for our healthy gut bacteria.

Nutrient-dense:

The nutrition profile of an açaí bowl varies depending on the ingredients used. That said, most bowls are high in fiber, antioxidants, and micronutrients like vitamin C, manganese, and potassium.

For reference, a 6-ounce (170-gram) acai bowl may contain the following nutrients:

* Calories: 211

* Fat: 6 grams

* Protein: 3 grams

* Carbs: 35 grams

* Sugar: 19 grams

* Fiber: 7 grams

Fresh acai berries have a short shelf life and aren’t available outside of where they are grown. As an export, they are sold as a frozen fruit purée, dried powder or pressed juice. This is the frozen açaí berry bowl I got. 😋❤️

That looks great! It's certainly looks like summer in a bowl. Never had a bowl, but I have had acai juice drink before. It has several health benefits 👍

Thank you Kainan 😁🙏. You can make one yourself so you can control the sugar level goes in there and it’s economic to prepare it. From the market, 3 dollars for one bowl of açaí. You can split it in half for half the amount of sugar (total 17g) and add a bunch of fruits, breakfast cereals, granolas, even Greek yogurt and you can enjoy anytime. I don’t like at the store, they even add sugary syrup makes it extra sweet so nauseous to me. 😂🤣😅

Thanks I'll be on the lookout for one next time I'm shopping. I have greek yogurt which I think would go great with it, and with granola. And add a bunch of berries for added flavor and extra health boost. :)

Yes you can add anything. I didn’t find have any kiwi or mangos or I would make a tropical bowl also. Yogurt on top and Bacillus coagulation are so great for your gut bacteria, i.e. improves your mental health also 😁👍

Good morning Koko, and that’s definitely a bowl of summer fun it looks very appealing.I’ve never heard of açai berries so this is very interesting and informative so thanks for going to all this trouble explaining their nutritional value.

Hi Jerry, yes i remember when I was in school ,açaí bowl was my go to as my power source lasted me a whole day with endless lectures throughout the day 😅 I’m glad I can introduce something different with so many health benefits for everyone to try. 🤗 Have a good week ahead Jerry! 😊🙏🌈

Seems like açaí berries here sold are frozen. Looks like California has a variety of fruits.

Hi Happenstances, yes açaí berries here sold frozen too unless we take a trip to South America. 😁 California does have a variety of fruits because of the weather and the multi-cultural place. 😊🌺
