Hi, avoid alcohol, caffeine, spicy foods, peppermint and chocolate I also avoid onion, garlic, pastry and cucumber skin.

Losing weight will also help if your carrying extra, not going to bed for a couple of hours after eating and sleeping with your upper body raised can all help

If you have medication from the doctor make sure you swallow it with plenty of water

Keeping active has also helped

Good luck xx

I also have Barrett's and hiatus hernia. Since starting Whole food plant based no oil diet, info on web I hardly have any reflux. Only take Omeprazole three times a week, enjoy wine daily and eat plenty of fruit, veg and nuts. You will also lose weight. There is a Barrett's charitable Soc but I have only registered with them and had no further contact although there is a forum to look at or contact.

Hello! Avoid fried food, high-fat meats, dairy products, spicy food, allium family, tomatoes, citrus fruits, coffee, soda, alcohol, mint, chocolate, candy the reasons behind avoiding each is in this post: howtotreatheartburn.com/hea...

I'd add any processed foods and sugar to that list. Sugar because it feeds unhealthy bacteria (i.e. SIBO and H. pylori) and Candida which slow digestion. Processed foods typically slow digestion and don't provide proper nourishment.
