Trainer at my IOP program asked will I be ready by Dec 18 to go back to work. I have no choice due to financial reasons. They are still pushing me to start medication. My depression is still on the very very low low side. Which means still very bad. The suicidal thoughts is still haunting me. I am thinking about re-taking medication my pcp gave me in April. The bottle is still sitting on my dresser untouched. It just scares me depending on something to make me feel better. Does anyone else take medication & how do you feel about it?

Hi I was the same after being ill for 7 months I had to go back to work although I still wasn’t well. Financially it had to be. I don’t take medication I would rather do it without I don’t want to be dependent on pills. I have a new therapist she hadn’t mentioned pills yet and I hope she won’t. I took pills years ago when all my insides decided to say “ HELLO” to the world they made me high as a kite!! I was painting walls at 3am I was buzzing Haha!! 🤣🤣 They were supposed to make me sleep. 😂😂. Take care 😊🌻🐾🐾xxx

i think being scared of pills is a good instinct. if you can do without, then better. doctors are quick to hand out psychiatric pills and it really disturbs me. our bodies and this world are full of ways to heal and strengthen.

My pcp & therapist suggest medication. They both feel my depression is extremely bad. Just trying to be my energy back up. I can't even eat in which is hurting my energy. Pcp suggest wellbutrin because of my energy level and doesn't have many side effects. Plus they feel it will help with my therapy sessions. Still not interested.

I understand the energy levels, mine are rubbish because my sleep pattern is awful I’m not sleeping enough to charge my batteries plus I’m not really hungry. I don’t blame you not taking them. Take care 😊🌻🐾🐾xxx

Colliedogs4me, glad you understand where I'm coming from. Stresses me out when they think I can't improve without medication. now I can breathe knowing someone completely understand. I know may take longer without medication, but pushing myself & trying other things. Using the dbt skills & going to start making smoothies for nutrition. Sometimes take melatonin for sleep , but don't want my body to depend on them. Only use them in emergencies. Even down loaded a mood app. Just need more energy to start working out.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you are going through this at the moment. I do not take medication and prefer not to but I did go on anti depressants for 1 yr in my early 20s when I was suicidal. I was considering it a few months ago. I felt they helped level me out at the time and I felt more capable at life once they kicked in. But, they were not a long term solution for me and I subsequently explored other options.

A comprehensive approach has helped me most with my depression caused from C-ptsd. Nutrition has been huge as well as therapy (emdr). I've found iRest Yoga Nidra excellent....& I mean excellent for sleep!! ..and good sleep just helps everything for me. There are some free Yoga Nidra meditations available on the 'Insight Timer' app (free)...I just recently discovered it. My fav is called "Yoga Nidra for Sleep & Rest" by TheStillpoint. You may find them helpful too.
