Struggling. Need something to give!

I'm in month nine now after my bleed and am still struggling! I had a bleed in my cerebellum due to an avm. My eyes have still not corrected, my independent walking is none existent and my balance is poor. I do think when my eyes correct my walking and balance will get better. I'm so frustrated with this recovery now, it's disheartening. I just want my independence back. I want to be able to walk down the street. I know recovery is slow but this is ridiculous

Yes, very ridiculous and extra frustrating too. For me taking things an hour or day at a time and not getting caught up in where I want to be right now proves to be less frustrating. It's definitely not my first choice, but it helps me deal with the slowwwwww process of it all. I'm sorry you're going through this. Wishing you better days ahead and even today to whatever extent that is possible for you.

Your eyes may not correct without exercises to help. You need to get to a good optometrist or nhs one at your hospital. Waiting for it to happen is not an option for you.

Yes Jo, I can only repeat what I said a few days ago, that a neuro-optometrist is the way to go. And by trying the 'back door' of approaching your existing practice nurse or neuro dept you could save time as opposed to waiting for a referral from your GP.

Maybe do both and see which one comes through first ! xx

Oh Cornishwaves. So sorry you are struggling. I feel bad for you but unfortunately time is the only remedy. Its a very slow and frustrating process. But you have to believe you will get there and stay as positive as possible.
