It's a really good program and it's based around the time I was born. My mum can really relate to it and she said that's the way things were in them days. It's amazing how much progress has been made in a relatively short time.

I see this progress in the last 50 or so in the whole spectrum of life and I think the Human race is amazing, until I put the news on then you hear and see the dark side of Humanity with war's all over the planet and the evil things Human's do to their own species and I start to despair and most of these things are usually related to greed or Religion

I decided to ease my curiosity and watch it on BBCi player . . . . . . .

So now I'm shedding a few tears (thanks razy) after so much pathos. I found the flowers in the window especially sad, followed by Trixie's admission of alcoholism.

Interesting reference to 'Thalidomide' arousing feelings of foreboding.

I might have to follow this programme next time round.

This was a good series and this episode was very moving. Through the series you could see where Trixie was heading and yes, the Thalidomide reference points to more trauma in the next series. One of the issues that the programme highlights for me is how one persons' problem can ricochet to have serious affect on the lives of others around. As I was born just before WWII I spent my teens/20's in this time period and there is something weird about this and some things do not seem quite right - but then memory can be very fickle sometimes.
