Done it again Pt 6

Hi just having a fun day today

People must think I am drunk because I am slurrying my speech which is one of the reasons I am like the monkey who speaks no evil ( I usually practice in my mind what I am going to say )

any one else has this problem

Absolutely,I sit quietly listening and only join in when I've really got something I'm desperate to say, it's so tiring talking. I speak with my sister every day on the phone and come off exhausted. I do like to sit quietly it means I can do other things, talking and doing is multitasking and so hard, sympathise entirely, a big deep breath sometimes alleviates the slurring, it gives you a bit of time to think of what you're saying anyway xxxxxx Janet

SOMETIMES I JUST STARE AT PEOPLE OPENMOUTHED LIKE AN IDIOT COS I CAN'T FIND THE WORDS TO ANSWER THEM.

LIKE YOU I REHEARSE IN MY HEAD IF I KNOW I HAVE TO SAY SOMETHING. IF I GET CAUGHT OFF GUARD I WORK OUT WHAT I SHOULD HAVE SAID OR WANTED TO SAY AFTER THE CONVERSATION. PRETTY POINTLESS REALLY.

SO FRUSTRATING.

Just had to phone pets insurance as Alfie has hurt his foot had to apologise for slurrying my speech sure chap at other end thought I was drunk

NOT ONLY CAN I NOT FIND THE WORDS BUT I ALSO CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY'RE SAYING IT'S JUST MEANINGLESS NOISE.

IT'S NOT LIKE THE TELLY WHEN YOU CAN REWIND UNTIL YOU CAN MAKE SENSE OF THE WORDS. THEY MIGHT AS WELL BE SPEAKING IN KLINGON.

WHEN I TRY & READ I HAVE TO READ THE SAME SENTENCE SEVERALTIMES TO MAKE SENSE OF IT. IT'S KNACKERING.

NEURO SAYS I'M STUCK WITH IT.

DEEP JOY (NOT)

Snap just on my way to Gp to discuss if their is any way to get referred to neurology not holding my breath though ( it is 50 years after the event)

I THINK THIS IS CALLED APHASIA, HEADWAY WILL CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG. MAYBE RAM IT HOME TO THE GP THEN THEY MAY ACTUALLY START TO UNDERSTAND. WHAT'S WRONG.

It might sound worse to you than to everyone else. My speech seems horribly slurred to me, but my husband and family say it sounds normal to them, which I don't really believe 100%, although I assume they're not lying. My job is as a university lecturer, and I've had no complaints from the students (thankfully!). I had 18 months off work, and in many ways I was surprised to be allowed back, but hey, my voice doesn't sound so bad to everyone else, evidently!

Voice recognition test

i am writing this using voice recognition and when my voice is slurry book the machine january understand what i am saying you can seewhere the machine cannot wrekonize show words

Hi sorry but voice recognition has problems when I start slurring it is fine if i talk very very slowly but i start slurring my speech after a few words

I have had family undertake same test and they have had 100% accuracy using voice recognition software on the tablet

Yes I slur, especially when tired, and my left side worsens neurologically. I do not go to a pub v often but a number of times I have been refused to be served as they obviously think I am three sheets to the wind! my friend says I should say something, but I jut leave. so many times in te street people shout 'hey love you should have another pint!', I just carry on walking, thinking keep calm and say nothing. once I didn't and shouted Hey Im not drunk , I had a brain injury and Yes I wish I could be a bit tipsy, but BI won't let me!
