Query of whether I have Pernicious Anaemia
I have been told by one Dr that I have Pernicious Anaemia as my B12 was low this year and last year. My ferritin was also low. I had been on a high dose of PPis for 4 years and intermittently for many years before that. Intrinsic factor this year was negative and when I had a gastroscopy last year

Colonoscopy/gastroscopy
Hello, me again! Or should I say “g’day”? I’ve just had my first ever hospital procedure with sedation - A colonoscopy and gastroscopy (top and tail) to check why I might not be absorbing B12 and iron. I’ve been terrified about it for so long and it was a complete non-event. The hospital staff were

Tagrisso and inflammation
I started with an eczema in September 2023. This was the first time I ever had a skin problem. Between Sept to Dec we tried everything to understand why I had developed an eczema ..allergy tests, blood tests, ecographies of organs, colonoscopy, gastroscopy and skin biopsies...all results came back

Abdominal Distension
Hi all, This is my first post on this forum but I've had symptoms for a few years now. A quick summary of my medical/diet/symptom history: 2017. Found I had high cholesterol. Had been vegetarian for a few years with lots of dairy. Didn't want statins so went vegan. Felt much fitter & healthier

Rheumatologist tapering schedule
I was diagnosed with pmr may 2023 by GP and saw rheumatologist 10 days later but by then symptoms had settled and he gave me a schedule for tapering. I had a blip and January this year when I was under a lot of stress and my CRP and ESR rocketed. I had a gastroscopy and colonoscopy but nothing was found

Hiatus hernia
I've been on PPIS eg omeprazole and lanzoprazole for about 25 yrs. I'm worried because I started on a low dose but at the moment I'm on 30mg twice a day and gaviscon med 4 times a day. I'm so worried about the long term effects. I had a gastroscopy 2 weeks ago which shown there was no sign of cancer

Ferritin of 38
My Ferritin has been dropping since an iron infusion a year ago. It was 98 pre transfusion. 1050 following the iron then every 3 months became gradually lower. It is now 38. Trans sats are 14% , Transferrin 26, Iron 8.4. My doctor says this is normal and filed my report without discussion. I had colonoscopy

Is it the "gold standard"?
Hi Folks, Three weeks ago, I had a gastroscopy and a colonoscopy. The gastrenteroligist said that he saw some changes in the mucosa of my stomach that made him suspect it might be portal gastropathy. Never heard of the term until then, so of course I googled it only to read to my shock and horror that

First, I should be upfront and say I have not yet, if ever, been diagnosed with cirrhosis. My most recent ultrasoubd if my liver, in December 2023, only said "The liver is normal in size and homogeneous. There is a mild increase in echogenicity consistent with stage 1 steatosis. There has been no change

Portal Gastropathy
Howdy Folks, I had a gasttoscopy and colonoscopy on Friday and receives some disturbing news. However, little background context is in order first. I had an abdominal ultrasound in December and all it said was mild fatty infiltration of the liver. However, I've been having a chronic sore throat for over

Portal Gastropathy
Hi Folks, I just joined this forum today and this is my first time posting. I had a gastroscopy and colonoscopy performed on Friday. The main reason was that I have been having some difficulty swallowing for a few months, and since I had been diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagus a number of tears ago,
