EMDA with Mitomycin

Hi all

After my turbt in July I’ve been recommended EMDA with Mitomycin. There was one small tumour TaG1. But it’s my 5th low grade recurrence. EMDA is like an enhanced intravesical Chemo in that while the solution is in the bladder electo impulses are sent between an electrode in the bladder and two on the stomach. It’s supposed to increase the efficacy of the drug.

I’ll be having a dose a week for 6 weeks then a check up and probably once a month afterwards. Starting on Wednesday. Has anyone had experience with this?

I had a course of "heated mitomycin therapy" some 4 years ago following TURBT X 2 with no bad side effects and no recurrence to date. Not sure if what you describe is the same treatment but if it is my consultant now describes it as "the new gold standard". Good luck

Thanks so much for your reply. Congratulations on being 4 years NED very pleased to hear that. 3 Questions: what grade were you? Did you have monthly treatments as well as the initial dose? Did you have any other treatment previously or was it the first recommended?
