You haven't missed much, VG - it's soft porn written in a way that women find appealing - not too brutish, if you see what I mean. explicit but soft focus
I found it a bit boring after the first two chapters, 'cos it was all lingering looks and heavy breathing and I thought - why don't they just get on with it, then have lunch like most people do?
Oh, and the hero is a sado-masochist - he likes to tie people up and dominate them before the main event - what a waste of time when you could be eating chocolate!
Oh this book is brilliant... but you really need to read the set to get the gist of how good they are and why the hero is like he is, I have never read any erotic romance novels before apart from the odd Jackie Collins, and she is too sugary sweet and high class for me. I rally enjoyed the Greys though.....Mind you, it could be a bit of wishful thinking on my part......but I do have a sado- masochist living with me his name is fibromyalgia.
I feel rather ashamed - I seem to be the only disgusting person who absolutely couldn't resist reading it. I read everything I can lay my hands on, tho' rarely stuff with a pornographic content!
It's not pornographic it is an erotic fantasy....think like a teenager who loves a certain pop star...or a young woman who fancies the pants of her boss tutor whatever....it is the stuff of dreams no more no less, If we didn't have dreams what could we do take away the hard knocks life throws at us.
The author of these books could even be an old bachelor/spinster who has never experienced an erotic moment. Even someone in an abusive relationship that penned the book to try and make sense of the pain. I was once told in a Literature class that authors possibly put something of themselves into their work.
HI, BY THE BY I wondered if you might start a blog on Interstitial Cystitis cos I think I might have it and I am sure others, too, would be interested.
Jjudith, thanks you have reminded me that I have been meaning to buy some carob flour for ages. It is wonderful for making altenative 'chocolate cakes' and carob bars are lovely too. will put it on my phone notes now!!!
PS ladies I have written erotic poetry and short stories , never a book though!!!!
