Hi Jess,

Show your family the info pages on our website - that will help for starters!

fibroaction.org

I have always found that it's best not to ask for too much understanding - ask for the help you need, instead.

Unfortunately, few people are interested in the illness of others, but if asked for practical assistance, most folks are very pleased to do what they can - it makes them feel good about themselves!

You can come to this site and moan as much as you like, 'cos we understand, but complaining to anyone else who is not a medical professional is probably not the best idea - they're not going to be interested - sad but true!

Anyway, welcome to our site - here you will find understanding and many tips on how to cope. We all have a good rant and a good laugh as well, so I hope you will enjoy yourself with us, and that you will feel supported!

Love from Moffy x

I'm lucky, my family and friends are very supportive ( most of the time). It's my line managers at work who don't understand and don't care to find out about my condition. So, they can go and soak their heads and I'll spend my time and energy on those who do :) Happy Easter to all xx

My husband is great. He is so caring & understanding. Our eldest son will look up stuff on the internet to see what the latest research is. But friends...what are they???? I have none.
