That it, you have to hang on to your sense of humour. I do the penguin walk when I first stand up too, and some of the muddles I get in with words are hilarious. You have to laugh when you can and when you cant the people who love you will understand. As the saying goes "Those who matter wont mind, and those who mind dont matter!!"

I agree with all of the above, being able to laugh at yourself is paramount. My children take the mickey too and funnily enough that makes it all more bearable x

Hi all.

I also agree with all of the above! Laughing at yourself sometimes is the best way to go, I am clumsy, I sometimes walk funny, or my words come out all wrong. If I didn't laugh then I would probably cry! Some family members don't really understand how I am feeling as it is almost an invisible illness. As it happens my sister also has Fibro and ME, and my mum has MS. (faulty genes!) So they do understand. Keep smiling and think happy thoughts! x

I tend to laugh and joke my way through work, but sometimes at home this is harder, probably because I can relax more at home. I think sometimes I must be seen as a right old whinger to my husband but he listens! Well I think he does!! 1 thing that a customer said at work the other day was "You've got darker lenses in your glasses haven't you." I haven't, it was just the dark circles under my eyes she was seeing!!! (I work in an opticians) My friends found that highly amusing!

I even went for tests on my brain cos I was convinced I was crazy, it was of course fybro fog, I also paint a smile with my makeup every morning, my family have got used to my silly extra or wrong words that pop out and we joke about it. The penguin walk develops now into a penguin jig to music ! we get there now been 12 years chin up and Ive just found you lot !!

just joined so Hi every one!!!

Like everyone else I use humour to cope , and to be honest some of the things I do are a bit like a Fawlty Tower's sketch !

When I have a problem thinking of a word , my fiancé turns it into a game of charades and we have a good giggle .
