Hi all. Last week I had to have my 18 year old cat put to sleep she became ill quite quickly. I am in the Redbridge area and I am desperately trying to find another cat/s. Max helped me through a lot of illness and pain, Her sister Charlie (RIP 08.03.11), Bea (31.08.11) and Thomas (April 2008) were my family. Does ANY ONE know where I can go to give a new cat/s or kitten/s a loving home????? I start the day hoping and I end the day with no sleep, in pain and with no luck.
I have sent emails, text, voice mail and telephone calls to all the cat protections and rehoming centres in a 10 mile radius of my flat. It is becoming darker, in 2007 I attempted suicide (it didn't work) and it was a community mental health team who said focus on something close to you, something you HAVE to look after - this was my four cats... I no longer have them and am finding it harder by the day to find another and the feelings are growing stronger and this time I am on a lot more tablets than in 2007. I am sending a plea out PLEASE... Tibby.

Hi Tibby, Im sorry to hear about your cat and that you are feeling so awful. Have you called the national cat protection league? If you want to mail me I will give you there number. It is probably worth going to speak to your gp or calling the samaritans . Please remember there are people who care, so please mail me. x
Yep tried that one but they couldn't help as they didn't have one near me and they wanted a home visit, an interview and all sorts of things. The form I had to complete gave more negative answers that positive ones. I live in a flat X I live near a train line X I don't have access to the garden even though I live on the ground floor X I work and so I am not home all the time X see more negatives. My wonderful cats enjoyed going out and coming in via the windows and when they didn't want to go out they had a litter tray and a warm quit to snuggle on and under and on the setee I put a single heated blanket so they wouldn't feel cold in winter. These didn't give me many ticks. Thanx though
As you are in Redbridge try Hornchurch Animal Rescue they have a Facebook Page they are a not for profit organisation and apart from having a cat to adopt have you thought about fostering until you find the cat that suits you. They are lovely people and really care for the animals.
Have you tried the freeads for your area? There are usually quite a few cats and kittens needing homes and they often advertise more than 1 cat from the same home. The owners are usually moving and can't take their pets with them. Many are free to a forever home which I'm sure yours will be. Why don't you have a look and let us know how you get on. I know how important pets are as I have a very old dog and 4 cats, although I might be losing one of them as he is my sisters cat and I was taking care of him until she moves house as the old one was on a main road and he was too scared to go out. She moved down from Scotland 8 months ago and the house is only rented for a year so she will be moving soon. I'm DREADING it! I've got an amazing bond with him, even tho I adore all my pets I've formed a reall attachment to him, and him to me to the point where he sleeps under the quilt cuddled up to my stomach all night. He hears my voice and he is there, he even "obeys" me when I tell him to do something!
I really hope you find your companions to cherish soon. Please let us know how you get on.
I've tried the free ads. I live in the East of London and four of the ads said Kittens free in the East end but when I rang them up they lived in the Isle of Man and no where near London and the wanted £200 to bring them into the country and one wanted £400 and lived in the Isle of White. I gave up with the free ads.
I have heard of those ads before usually found on gumtree and no kittens are ever sent just the money taken.
When I have had kittens in the past I have advertised them on preloved.co.uk so that could be worth a try if you havent already. Also have you tried your local freecycle or freegle as some are called now (can be found in yahoo.groups.
So sorry to hear about your cat, I know how it feels to lose one of your family, we lost our beautiful 4 year old devon rex in April 2012, we still have his brother and 3 other cats.
Have you tried Battersea Cats and Dogs home? They have some very lovely cats and kittens who are waiting for someone like you to love them and give them a good home.
Hi, if I have not been lucky, I would be interested in the kittens, both of them, I would never split up a family, be it sister and sister, brother and brother or sister and brother. x
Tibby3..very sorry, but before I could in touch, fhe cat and. Kittens, have found homes. But I will keep an eye out for you. Hope you get your pet soon. Best wishes
Hi flowerbee. I took two 6yr old male cats on last weekend. Instantly one of them took to me the other took to my partner. So our new family are me and my partner and Scrabble (ginger and white) and Ludo (black). Ludo was rushed into the vets on Tuesday and has spent the last three days there with a blocked bladder and kidney. The vets said that he was very happy, eating and purring, and ready to come home, so we collect him tomorrow.
