Hi, recently been confirmed with fibromyalgia can I claim disability living allowance?
Well best of luck with that one you can give it ago
Hi funnybunny,
It depends on how much the fibro affects you. If it's just pain, you're unlikely to be awarded DLA, but if you have problems with personal care, mobility or making yourself a meal, then you may be eligible
Here's a link to download the application form - you will be able to see whether you fit the profile!

Yes that's the question , even though I have had fibro for 23 years,, its ony been the last four years that I have claimed due to having arthritis now... And even though I lost my fibro on the form I am awarded low care for my arthritis only .... But as the others say give it a go you can only be told yes or no so mo harm in trying

not everyone with Fibro is effected in the same way. It may also depend on what other conditions you may have and how this effects your daily living. there are two components to DLA. Mobility and care. you need to look at whether you are able to care for yourself, and then how well you are able to walk. Just having a diagnosis of Fibro alone wouldn't be a reason to get DLA. the benefit is changing from next month too and will be even harder to get. It may be worth considering making a claim now if you think you qualify.
I understand that Admin have some fact sheets that will help with your claim. good luck x
