Hi lash,
The best thing to do is to go to Citizen's Advice Bureau. They are experts on benefits and grants, and will also have local knowledge of any private charity funding in your area.

Hi Lash, there are various charities which may consider help, other people here may know much more about the state benefits than I do. I was told to apply to the DGA (distressed gentlefolks association) which has now become Elizabeth Finn Trust, but I have never felt that I deserved something that someone else might need. I am not sure what I'm on really as I've been put in the WRAG for ESA and I get lower care component of DLA .
I am sure you will get some good advice here, and wish you well for the future.
