Hi it's me again, feeling really desperate at the moment. Just spoken to gp on phone who told me.I have had 14 consultations this year! The pains are caused by my head etc. I don't know what to do. All I know is how bad I feel and how much I hurt. It's not in my head. I want to be well again.

Please help. I'm so sorry but I need someone.

That's disgusting! I think you should complain to the local health authority. In the meantime, if your pain is too much for you, can you get to A&E? they would do what they could for you, and you could call an ambulance, as severe pain is an emergency!

I'm very sorry you are having all these troubles - even if the problem was psychogenic, that doesn't mean your doctor should do nothing. I'm speechless - well nearly!

Hi Jane

Have you been referred? Was your Fibro diagnosed by a specialist? If not, you need a referral.

TBH, a GP pointing out how often you've seen them (in a "you shouldn't do this" kind of way) and telling you that your symptoms are psychosomatic without even a psychiatric referral (psychosomatic disorder does exist but is rare and is something a psychiatrist would need to diagnose) is grounds for a complaint.

Can you see another GP or even go to another practice?

Please listen to the above as they do know what's what. I know that one time when I was ill with pain my wife phoned 999 and the paramedic said to do this every time it is to much as it is logged and can help with diagnosis. they did not take me in but gave me some strong painkillers with enough for the next day for when my doctor could sort me out.

so if you are having problems ring 999 and they will help.

that is disgusting. I felt my gp wasnt listening to me .my problem besides fibro was abdominal swelling pain and lumps -and i kept going back but not getting any answers.in the end i went private and was diagnosed with gallstones -something my gp never investigated.i am awaiting an appt for surgery.if ti turns out to be more than galsltones ie cyst or something then i will complain and maybe sue .I comalined tomy mp and the nhs btu the surgery said that I was being treated fairly despite symptoms beign ignored and not enough done to invsestigate.

if you lodge a complaint I wish you luck.i agree if too bad dial 999 or go to A&E.

cant say anymore than the previous replies...please ring 999 if the pain is that bad, and deal with that rude, ignorant man who is your gp when you are feeling better, please keep in touch xx

Thanks everyone for your support. I feel a bit better this morning and a bit more ready to fight! Because of where we live there is only the local doctors. I just want to feel like there is someone on my side which all you wonderful people are!
