Help...need tips for when fibromyalgia stops you from doing things....

Hi there,

Okay, I can deal with the fact I can't type much anymore and have to send friends voice recordings.... embarrassingly so, but necessary.

I can just about get my head around not being able to dance anymore as it completely flairs up the pain.

But NOW, photography!!!!πŸ˜ͺ I shake, so my pictures don't turn out properly.

This condition is really taking the fun and creativity out of my life. It's hard going, I don't know how to stay positive and adapt like I have with the typing with the dance and photography?

Any one else going through this? Any tips to adapt? Anyone suggest a dance that won't cause pain? How to take a good photos now?

Added a photo of what I used to be able to take. Very fitting.... 😊πŸ˜ͺ

Hi there your title says still fighting,we try hard dont we to find alternative ways to cope, loved dancing but now I have to watch, move my arms around tapping my feet in tune to the beat the only thing I tell myself is I can hear the music and watch everybody not the same I know but not being able to see and hear would be devasting, my late uncle was a great photographer still have the black and white photos that have become very fashionable these days. Is there a tripod you can put camera on ?? Would be lovely to keep the hobby going . You can send us a picture now and then that would be nice, bufferflies are lovely in the garden it looks like it has landed on a plant Sedum or even a astrantia, but just guessing .

Thanks for your message 😊 appreciate it.

Yes, good point about still being able to hear music, thanks for the positive vibes and comments.

Okay, thanks, a tripod, didn't think of that, great suggestion!!!!😊 Glad I messaged.

Yes, well I thought the butterfly was a good idea to add as it's the symbol for fibromyalgia. No idea of the plant type, it's in my old garden as well. You know more than me, ha 😊

Thank you and hope you're having a good day πŸ€—

Well like you my hobbie of many years is not so great because it is gardening so very limited time bending etc, but not giving up , can sit at a table and pot up seed trays for the greenhouse etc, nothing better than a home grown tomato /cucumber .

Have you asked your GP about cbt they might be able to give you ideas and work with you to get back to what you enjoy it might also be worth speaking to them about the shaking in your hands that might not be fibromyalgia that is causing that

Hi, I was really upset when I had to give up dancing so I joined a relaxed Tai chi class for older people and I love it because I can still move to music at my own pace. It helps to work my brain also, as remembering the moves is a big part of it.

Thank you, yes I do CBT and I'm undergoing eye movement therapy at the moment. I'll check the shaking hands thing out, just assumed that was a symptom.

Och, great minds think a like, joined a Tai Chi class yesterday 😊😊😊

Thanks for suggestions. Appreciate it 😊

Keep smiling 😊 and beaming big hugs to you all πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—

I know how you feel. Try and stay positive. I did a blood test a few weeks ago and my vitamin D levels were very low 23. My GP advised me to start taking 2 vitamin D tablets for a week to boost the levels quickly and then taper off to one tablet daily. It made a huge improvement in my fibro symptoms. The pain was reduced to a low, bearable level.

I also take Q10 which helps restore the mitochondria in our body. Another good supplement is D-ribose 5mg. I found that really boosted my energy as did the Vitamin D tablets. Hope this helps you.

Take care.
