not content with all the things i already have wrong with me i gave my self shingles 2 weeks ago it was infection in right foot and leg now cant wait to see what i can get next week

Shingles is very unpleasant, isn't it? I have had several attacks, and even after the blisters heal, it still leaves a painful area which can last for months.

I hope you're getting some treatment from your doctor? Taking anti-viral medication can drastically shorten the illness.

I. Have permenant shingles I have a very good consultant and I have been very lucky to have had an injection from the US which hopefully will come to the UK soon NICE are trailing it hence my jab. It doesn't stop the shingles but lessens the attack. I am also on valerexion I think you can only get prescribed this by a consultant as its expensive but you could mention it to your gp as this can help prevent the attacks coming and or lessen their nasty sypmtoms x

luckly the gabapentin i was already on helped with the pain and the areas it is in were alredy painful anyway and the gp gave me aciclovir for the shingles so now on 49 tablets a day so hard to fit it all in and to day fell really sick and dont want to eat so had couple of buiscuts to take tablets but never mind get throgh today and tomorrow may be better

shingles is a nasty virus, I got it on my forehead, looked like a Klingon !
