i have problems with walking at the mo to hun dont worry ur not the only one x
ive had problems with walking for several years now its so frustrating your head tells you to go faster but your body wont cooperate i get severe pain in my hips and back to and know what you mean about the drs not understanding i just get a sorriful look which is not what i want or need ive been on at them for ages to please look into why i cant walk properly even very old people walk faster than i can and to add insult to injury only got awarded low rate mobility at last tribunial !! xx
I have to use crutches and a mobiity scooter because I fall and my legs are wobbly
Its a relief to know that I am not the only one, only not as bad as some of you, were looking at moving into a ground floor flat or bungalow to make things easier, just applied for living disability but not holding my breath, hoping to hear from specialist team about an appointment soon, at least then won't have to put up with new GP's disbelieving looks, wished I hadn't had to change as my old GP was fantastic, hope you guys manage to improve your mobility xxx
Hello Kirsty, I think many of us can relate to the symptoms you describe, I most certainly can.
If you click on the link below it will take you to our main site at FibroAction where some of the symptoms we experience are described -
fibroaction.org/Pages/What-...
It is also common for our hormone levels to be affected with having Fibromyalgia and low dopamine levels can lead to problems with balance, so this may be the reason you are having problems with your mobility.
Unfortunately it isn't unusual for the odd GP to be "unsympathetic" to Fibromyalgia, our experiences with our GP's tend to vary greatly. We are very blessed if we have an understanding and Fibro accepting GP that's for sure.
I hope you get on well with your referrals and that you get the treatment and support to help you.
If we can be of any help here, please just ask. We are always happy to try to help where we can at any time.

Hi Libz,
Thank you for your response, I read the page you linked me to, just trying to find my way round the site, it helps to know there are people in the same boat as me that I can talk to and relate to. My family have been fantastic and very supportive but its hard to try and explain to someone whos not going through it, what its like on a daily basis, especially when most of the time you look perfectly fine on the outside ( when ive got makeup on to hide the paleness ) lol. I sympathise, many of us have faced and are facing the same problems so we do understand. I went through it myself at the beginning. I put my make-up on, do my hair, I look fine! A common problem.
Take a look through our main site, there is a wealth of information there. Show your family if you can to help them understand, they are going through this enormous change too, they will feel frustrated at not being able to help you. They actually need understanding and support too. It's tough on not only us but on our loved ones too.
Please let us know how you get on, take care.
