Sticky Eyes

Does anyone wake up with sticky eyes, like conjunctivitis oh long word, can just see to type, this happens most mornings. Is it a symptom of Fibro?

I doubt if this is anything to do with fibro, it's probably conjunctivitis.

Mostly, this will be a viral infection which will clear in a few days. Just bathe the stickiness from your eyes with cooled boiled water, or get some soothing eye drops from the chemist.

If your eyes are painful, or your vision affected, or if it doesn't clear in a few days, then it's wise to ask your GP to help.

Sorry to be awkward Moffy.... Dragonfly have you just started on amitriptaline by any chance it gave me the most sore itchy eyes just like conjunctivitis after 4 weeks of no pain relief sleeping too much and feeling like a zombie I gave them up and within 2 days my eyes cleared up I saw my gp who said my eyes were caused by amitriptaline, so am quite glad i am off it

You're right VG, a lot of medication can cause dry itchy eyes, but if they're sticky, it's usually an infection. Either way if it persists or is very troublesome, then the GP should know about it M xxx

Hi VG, im not sure what amytripaline is im on mirtazipine for depression and to help me sleep which doesnt work very well as I can be wide awake at 4 in the morning.What other names does it go buy?
