Been to the doctors. got to go for x-rays on both my hands and wrists. The doc has also told me to reduce Gabapentin to check it is working as pain is still breaking through.
Has anyone tried Gabapentin and changed to a different painkiller?
Thanks Sue x

yes i have had this and omg it made me ill so i was taken off and now on Lyrica i been on for over a year now and near the maximum dose.
What does he suspect your swollen wrist is? atleast he wasting no time in X rays
i recently had swollen ankle and spread and Dr said Tendonitis as i had fluid build up but put on the lovely stocking supports and it went down, it does flare when stood up or out on my feet too much.
well hopefully it nothing much to worry about xxx hugs
thanks for the reply, no I dont think she thinks it is the Gabapentin but we are still trying to get my pain management right. I dont think that being left handed and holding my stick in that hand helps. Ive tried switching but cant do it lol. Ive got a ganglion on my wrist thats swollen aswell so thats not helping.
Just fed up that the pain is not under control, and I am waiting to go to my DLA Tribunal on the 14th December so im stressing about that too.
Ive never heard of Lyrica, does it help, and is it like Gabapentin.
Hi ,my wrists swell up for no reason in fact there swollen near enough all the time, also knees and ankles,i have a swelling in my neck more to the side by my clavicle,it's all linked.I have been on gabapenten 12 months with an increase of dosage,i have just had prescribed tramadol as co- codamyl no good,if i'm honest i haven't a clue if any of them work, every time i go to docs i come out with a higher dosage or something else.My doctor is very sympathetic though, whatever i asked for he would give it to me,it's like he say's, it's trying to get pain under control.Don't think anymore can be done unless of course secondary condition occurs,i know someone who is injected with anaesthetic every so often,i suppose you could say how much further do we have to go.Jacksiex.
