I,ll be serious first... Sounds like crepitus my neck crunches groans and refuses to turn right without such extreme pain I don't do it , one of the many reasons I had to give up driving... If its new please get it checked out by gp. I had an X-ray that said wear and tear my 2nd rheumatologist said wear and tear just meant early onset arthritis but as he disappeared immediately after that appointment I have my doubts that he was indeed a rheumatologist and the room was so small it could have been a broom cupboard so I could have been talking to a hospital cleaner by mistake... Anyway no amount of physio private osteopath and massage have ever helped in 4 years I just turn my whole body to the right when I need to look that way..... If you get a diagnosis and a cure from your gp please let me know..... On the silly side.. If we have snow this winter just unzip your neck and gravel the path for your own safety....

I get that often too! If you find out what causes lease let me know, it really is a weird feeling x

I get the gravely crunching too, I've had it for many years and also very stiff to turn to the right. It happened after having a sinus operation, so I imagine it was when the instrument was put down my throat after general anaesthetic etc. I remembering waking up with a stiff neck and it was never the same again. In retrospect I should've done something about it at the time, but being busy with two babies, I just didn't get round to it.

I'm used to it now, but it does make doing yoga awkward sometimes. :O xxx

I get that and was told I have spondylitis, I think I am just wearing out.

Piggie hugs xxxx

I have this problem too and was given exercises to do by my physio - it does help.

I know it's alarming to hear the gravelly sound but the more you try to gently move the neck the easier it gets.

Try to put you head down with you chin towards your chest ( making a double chin) back and forth bringing your shoulders slightly towards your ears - this will ease the stiffness.

Hope this helps.

Hugs Ren Robin...xxx
