Atos assessment was today..

Well this is my second attempt to posts,think the last one in ciber space. As i was saying i had my assessment today,n I'm afraid to say. but atos doctor wasn't very interested much in my fibro.I have a lot of other problems,ie..i just hd a shoulder op a few weeks ago,n under a few consultants at moment..Also hv bladder problems to which i have surgery for twice a year,to which i put down to my fibro.. i tried to explain how my fibro affect my fatigue,n he cut me of mid sentence. n told me he was aware of this.3. He wanted to know more about my other health problems,and. my mental health. so om sorry peeps,but my advice is get. as much evidence,from your consultants,n anybody else and make sure you take it with you. my assessment lasted approx 30 mins.mu daughter came with me n handed over all my meds,along with my letters and appointment i hve ongoing with consultants.Also i don't mind in admitting i broke down infront of doctor.due to the pain I'm in n also frustration at not being able to discuss how my fb affects my every day life.After assessment was done. doctor jst said thankyou,n put all my meds bk in bag n said i would hear from them in a few weeks,n then went n handed them bk to my daughter.I don't know how i hvegt on.I will let you all know when i hear bk i wish all my fibro sufferers good luck n best wishes. I'm no of to bed exhausted.. sorry its not great news.hugs to all of you oin their decision.

I just popped by to see how your day went and I cannoot say I am surprised. I wish at the time I would have requested the ATOS docotr told me what he/she knew of Fibromyalgia. I have heard if they are not qulaified in something they will sweep it aside as though it does not exist. But please do not count your chickens just yet, it could go your way, you never know. I have had illnesses for over 26 years now(fm for 25-26 years)and the latest, lung disease, which is in fact going to kill me at some point was not even considered. I had proof of it via x-rays, CT scans, breathing tests and report and the ATOS doctor said he listened to my lungs and found no sign of lung disease! He never even listened to my chest. In fact he claims to have done all examination tests and did about 10%. The one that made me laugh is him stating he tested my eyes and found no problems, I had perfect vision. Yet I wear milk bottles for glasses and still cannot see past the end of my nose. AND he never even tested my eyes. Did the judge at the tribunal see through all these lies, nope, ATOS had sown the seed of doubt. But I had a way out and I still get benefits albeit different ones but should I need to claim ESA again I will fight them to the top level if I have to. Don't worry until you hear something, it was 8 weeks before I heard xxxxx

Feeling, I am so sorry you had such a tough time today, it's an all too common story that we hear so often here at FibroAction. It seems so unfair that genuinely ill people have to go through all of this.

it may not help you, but forvanyone else attending assesments, if you have letters from consultants, it's helpful if you send in copies before your assessment, phone them first to let them know you are sending paper work in fr the attention of the assessing practitioner. I did this and when I had my assesment he had the reports there and had read them befor he saw me which gave him a better idea of my conditions xx
