I am so sorry to hear how you are feeling at the moment Leanne, you are having a tough time of it. If your patches have been increased to that level and you are still struggling with your pain, you need to speak to your GP about this as soon as you are able to. Not being able to manage your pain is bound to make you struggle, it saps your energy, affects your ability to sleep and rest, it affects every facet of our lives.
Having a bad throat and losing your voice for that many weeks is a struggle in itself. Seeing your GP could also help this. If you can't manage to talk to your GP, jot down a note explaining the situation with your patches, your throat and your voice.
Perhaps it's time for a meds' review, we all need one from time to time because our symptoms can evolve and change and consequently sometimes our doses need altering or our meds need changing to something that will work better for us.
Please be assured that we are here for you at all times, we will do our best to help and support you in any way we can. If you have any worries or concerns please just ask.
Take care Leanne, please let us know how you get on at the GP's. Here's a hug for you (((hug))) xxx
Thanks I had a X-ray Wednesday for my throat so seeing my doc then I just feel fobbed off with the patches. But other people say they work and r addictive which scares me xxxx
You need to speak to your GP about your concerns over the patches too Leanne.
The patches contain the active ingredient Buprenorphine, which is a type of medicine called an opioid analgesic (painkiller). It is a strong painkiller related to morphine and with prolonged use you can become dependent on this. I can understand you worrying about this.
Hopefully your GP will be able to reassure you about this and also about how you are feeling too. Please keep us informed as to how you are getting along. (((hug))) xxx
I agree you must see your doctor, there are so many different types of painkillers that your GP can try until you get the right one and dose which is suitable for you.
I hope your xray results are okay
Gentle hugs

I think it's trail and error with meds I take night meds, day meds haven't found any that agree with me except paracetamol ... I call smarties and if I am in real pain my gp will give me a short term course of a muscle relaxant they help greatly ... Otherwise I pace myself in the day ... I am fortunate I can but am in constant pain to some degree always,
VGx
hope you feel better today Leanne? i take med 4 times a day varying from 1 tramadol to taking oramorph every 2 hrs, when i saw my pain doc she says if they get rid of 50% of pain thats all i can hope for. felt like ending it all, but we have to be strong.
